Santos suspends Perak Barat Laut 1 appraisal well in C. Sumatra

Australian listed oil and gas firm Santos Limited said on Thursday that Perak Barat Laut 1 appraisal well in Korinci-Baru production sharing contract (PSC) in Central Sumatra had been cased and suspended as a future gas producer pending potential well testing at a later date.
Santos said the well reached the planned depth of 505 meters this week.
Meanwhile, Santos said another appraisal drilling in Korinci Utara 1 well in Korinci-Baru PSC had reached 820 meters, surpassing the planned total depth of 800 meters.
Santos is the operator and 61.1 percent interest holder in Korinci-Baru PSC, while another Australian firm Petroz Korinci Baru LDC holds the remaining balance. (alex)
