Santos to quit Kutei Basin exploration block

Australian oil, gas firm Santos Limited has submitted request to totally relinquish Donggala offshore exploration block in Kutei basin and surrender the block to the government.

The company?s Indonesian unit has submitted the request to the government since November this year Dody T. Mochtar, Santos Indonesia Government and Public Relations told Petromindo.Com on Friday.

Santos holds 50 percent interest and is the operator of Donggala block, which contains Hiu Aman gas discovery which was made in early 2005.

Santos also has 20 percent non-operating interest in the adjacent Popodi and Papalang PSC blocks. (godang)
