Santos to suspend C. Sumatra appraisal well

Australian oil, gas firm Santos Limited on Sunday said that Perak Barat Laut 1 gas appraisal well in Korinci-Baru production sharing contract (PSC) in Central Sumatra had reached the planned total depth of 505 meters with 375 meters progress for the week.
According to Santos, the well is to be cased and suspended pending potential well testing at a later date.
Santos is conducting appraisal drillings in Korinci-Baru PSC to prepare for gas sale through pipeline to West Java, which is scheduled to commence in 2005.
Santos, the operator of Korinci-Baru PSC, holds 61.11 percent working interest in the block, while Petroz, holds the remaining 38.19 percent. (alex)
