Santos updates 2005 Indonesian exploration program

Australian oil and gas company Santos Limited has scheduled to drill three Indonesian oil and gas exploration wells for the remaining 2005, according to company?s quarterly report released on Wednesday.

The three wells are Bisma, Banjar Panji, and Herbras/Nuri.

According to the report, the Bisma well will be spudded in the second quarter of 2005. Meanwhile, other two wells are scheduled in the third quarter of 2005.

The Bisma and Banjar Panji wells are located in the Brantas production sharing contract (PSC), while the Herbras/Nuri well is situated in Santos-operated Sampang PSC.

Brantas PSC is a gas producing block operated by Lapindo Brantas.

Santos spudded four Indonesian exploratory wells during the first quarter of 2005 resulting in a significant hydrocarbon discovery through the Hiu Aman 1 well located in its Donggala PSC offshore East Kalimantan. (robert)
