Mauritius-based oil firm Sanyen Oil & Gas Limited (SOGL) said Tuesday it had planned to conduct a 700 square kilometers full-fold of 3D marine seismic survey in the newly awarded Anambas Block, offshore Natuna Sea.
In its pre-qualification bid announcement, SOGL said the data acquisition need to be started not later than June 1, 2005.
The Anambas Block is over 3,200 square kilometers in size, and is located within the gas-prone area of West Natuna. Pipelines that supply gas to Singapore and Malaysia pass through the Block.
Under a 30-year production sharing contract signed late June, SOGL obligates to carry out acquisition of new 3D seismic data and the drilling of one exploration well in the first three years of the exploration period.
SOGL is wholly owned by Malaysian-based Genting Oil & Gas Limited. (Robert)
