Sarulla Geothermal Power plant to reach COD on Dec. 26

PT Medco Power Indonesia (?MPI?), wholly subsidiary of PT Medco Energi Internasional Tbk, stated that Unit 1 of Sarulla Geothermal Power Plant with the total capacity of 330 MW in North Sumatra, was scheduled to realize its Commercial Operation Date (COD) on Dec. 26, 2016.
President Director of MPI, Fazil E. Alfitri, told Petromindo.com on Friday that its unit 1 with the capacity of 110 MW will be completed and commence operation on Dec. 26 this year (2016).
?Currently, we are in the process of testing all systems,? he said.
Earlier, Fazil explained that for this power plant the company uses turbine from Toshiba.
Meanwhile, the unit 2 and unit 3 are expected to be on stream by 2017 and 2018.
The total investment for the project was estimated at about US$1.7 billion which is financed by JBIC, ADB and several other overseas banks.
