Private power company PT Sumber Alam Sekurau (SAS) plans to develop a second 7.5 MW coal-fired power plant in Bulungan, North Kalimantan, to help resolve the current power supply shortage, Tribunkaltim.co reported on Wednesday.

The news portal quoted SAS Manager Erwin Saptohadi as saying that this company is currently seeking permit from the state-owned electricity firm PT PLN North Kalimantan branch.
