SBY appoints Chairul Tanjung as acting energy minister

President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono has appointed Coordinating Minister of the Economy Chairul Tanjung as acting minister of energy and mineral resources, replacing Jero Wacik, who has resigned.
The appointment of Chairul was effective Tuesday, Sept. 9, according the Presidential Decree No. 77/2014.
Jero has been named by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) a suspect in a extortion case. After being named a suspect, Jero sent a letter to the president to tender resignation on Friday, Sept. 5.
