SBY plans Pertamina overhaul

President SBY hinted on Thursday that Pertamina?s board of directors would be replaced as part of plan to boost the company?s performance, reports said.

Speaking in Yangoon, SBY said that rejuvenation of the state firm would produce greater revenue for the state from oil and gas sector. SBY compared Pertamina with Petronas, which had leapfrogged after being late starter after Pertamina to one of the star performer in global oil industry.

Current marketing director had been strongly rumored to take place of current President Widya Purnama while Iin Arifin Takhyan, currently director general of oil and gas will become vice president. Kun Kurnaely, currently president of Pertamina?s E&P subsidiary is rumored to become E&P director, but Tempo said that Sukusen Soemarinda, currently director of Pertamina?s Geothermal unit. Sonny Soemarsono, currently Pertamina representative in Japan will take Human resources director while Ahmad Faisal will become marketing director. Processing director Suroso is rumored to retain his position, while director of finance position will go to Frederick Siahaan.

Several sources contacted said that the replacement could happen as quickly as next week. (*)
