SBY to inaugurate Sisi-Nubi 2B project in Mahakam

President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono is scheduled to inaugurate the development of Sisi Nubi 2B project within offshore Mahakam PSC in East Kalimantan which is operated by Total EP Indonesie (TEPI), a subsidiary of French firm Total SA, on Sept. 15 in Balikpapan.

"President SBY will inaugurate the Sisi Nubi 2B project in tandem with several other oil and gas projects in East Kalimantan," an industrial source said.

He said that the development of Sisi Nubi Phase 2B project aims to install two new wellhead platforms. In accordance with the approved Plan of Development (POD), the Sisi-Nubi Phase 2 (Phase 2A and 2B) project will add 35 wells, according to the company.

"The Sisi Nubi Phase 2 project costs up to US$ 1.033 billion, of which $ 739 million is allocated for Phase 2B," the source added.

SKK Migas?s spokesperson Zudaldi Rafdi confirmed the news, saying aside from the Susi Nubi Phase 2 B, SBY will inaugurate the development of production facilities for Ruby field owned by Mubdala Petroleum. Both projects will be inaugurated in tandem with of other projects in East Kalimantan, which are part of the the Master Plan for Acceleration and Expansion of Indonesian Economic Development (MP3EI) in the region.
