Schlumberger gets $166m contract from Chevron

Top US oilfield services company Schlumberger Corp. said on Friday it had been by Chevron a multi-year, US$166 million contract for well-construction services for Chevron?s Indonesian operations.

The contract was awarded sometime in the fourth quarter of 2005.

The company said that addition to providing measurement -while-drilling (MWD) and logging-while-drilling (LWD) services, Schlumberger will supply cementing, stimulation, gravel pack, and coiled tubing services in Chevron's central Sumatra area of operations.

Chevron?s Central Sumatra operations is Indonesia?s number one crude producer, pumping around 500,000 barrels per day, or 50 percent of Indonesia?s crude production. (alex)
