Scorpa-Sembawang consortium bags $300m Cepu EPC

A consortium of Singapore firm Sembawang Corporation and Indonesian firm PT Scorpa Pranedya has been named as successful EPC bidder for Banyu Urip oil field in Cepu block, East Java, which is operated by US giant ExxonMobil Corp.

BPMIGAS Vice Chairman Hardiono said that the consortium be awarded work, known as EPC IV, which scope will include construction of floating storage and offloading facility.

Hardiono said the project?s value is about US$300 million.

Exxon divided EPC works at Banyu Urip into five separate packages.

The Banyu Urip is being developed into full production of 165,000 BPD, which will be achieved 36 months after all EPC contracts are being awarded.

Cepu block production facilities include 49 wells in three platforms, a central processing facility and a 95-kilometer pipeline to stream oil to a storage facility and a floating storage and offloading facility (FSO) with a maximum capacity of 1.7 million barrels. Oil tankers will ship oil from the FSO to domestic and overseas customers. (godang/bernard)
