Sea sand mining license to be issued by regent administration

The Minister of Mining and Energy Susilo B. Yudhoyono has agreed to hand over the authority of issuing license for sea sand mining to the regent administration as part of the plans to provide regional autonomy.

Head of the local House of Representatives in Riau Kepri Syafruddin Aluan said that the minister would soon sign a decree on the new policy.

He said that the regent would have the authority to issue license for sea sand mining.

He added that the authority to provide license for land sand mining had already been held by regent administration level. (*)
