The oil production of Joint Operating Body (JOB) Pertamina-Seaunion Energy Limited in South Sumatra continues to show an increase this year, with a daily output reaching 7,000 barrels per day, local newspaper Sriwijaya Post reported on Monday.

The president of JOB Pertamina-Seaunion Ltd., M. Zacky Shebubakar said in Palembang last week that the actual production was above this year?s target of 6,200 barrels per day.

The company operates about 50 old oil fields, which were formerly owned by Pertamina and other oil companies. Most of the oil fields are located in Gunung Megang, Rampangkapak Tengah and Rambang districts in Muaraenim regency.

He said that the company was conducting a seismic survey on other former oil fields to further increase its production in the coming years. ?We hope the local people will support us in finding abundant oil fields in the regency. The higher the production we have the greater the contribution we can provide to the local people,? he added. (*)
