The Ruby gas field within the Sebuku Block in East Kalimantan operated by Pearl Oil (Sebuku) Ltd is expected to start production in October 2013 at a rate of 100 mmscfd.

?The progress of the development of the project has covered more than 83 percent (of the target),? said Rudianto Rimbono, Head of Project Management and Facility Maintenance at upstream authority SKK Migas.

Rudianto said on Monday that the Ruby gas field is designed to produce 214 bcf of gas for 10 years. The highest production rate of up to 100 mmscfd will last for four years, with output to come from six development wells of the Berai Formation.

He said that the entire gas output from the Ruby field will be dedicated for the domestic market, particularly for the fertilizer companies, a key industry in the development of the food sector.
