Australian miner Straits Resources Limited announced on Thursday that first half year coal production from Sebuku mine in South Kalimantan reached 1.641 million tones with sales reached 1.752 million tones, compared with 1.323 million tones and 1.349 million tones, respectively in the same period last year.

?The 1.75 million tones sales were excellent results considering the adverse historical impact of the wet season in the first half of the year,? the company said. The company said it was on track to meet 3.5 million tones sales for this year.

It also said that it had extended contract of its mining contractor PT. Bukit Makmur for another 5 years.
