Confiscation of containers by police in Belinyu seaport in Bangka Belitung has reportedly disrupted the second largest tin producer PT Koba Tin?s export activities, Investor Daily reported Wednesday.
Of the 93 confiscated containers worth Rp 180 billion of tin export, 20 containers are owned by PT Koba Tin.
?The confiscation by the authority has disrupted export activities by Koba Tin,? said the company?s administration officer Tuty Effendi in Jakarta Monday.
Police seized the 93 containers loaded with around 300 tons and license document in the police raid on September 29 of this year.
PT Koba Tin, 75 percent owned by Malaysia Smelting Corp and 25 percent by state-owned tin miner PT Timah, has extended its contract of work over its concession in Bangka until 2013. With total deposit of 70,000 tons, the mining activities in the area could last only until 2007. (*)
