Sekawan eying full-year output of 1.75m tons

IDX-listed PT Sekawan Intipratama Tbk through its coal mining subsidiary PT Indo Wana Bara Mining Coal aims to produce a total of 1.75 million tons of coal this year at its mine in West Kutai, East Kalimantan.
As reported by this portal Wednesday, the company will start commercial production in April of this year.
Sekawan President Director Suluhudin Noor said on Friday that the company will start coal shipment in June of this year to overseas buyers including Hong Kong?s Evertrade and Asia Express Holding, and Vietnam?s Binh Duong following amendment of coal sales and purchase agreements.
Indo Wana operates a 5,000-ha coal concession in West Kutai Regency, East Kalimantan, with estimated resources of 533.31 million tons, and reserves of 288.1 million tons.
Sekawan President Commissioner Rennier A. Latief said the company has been in talks with other parties for a joint power plant project with a capacity of 15 MW to support the planned ethanol plant.
Sekawan is in the process of finalizing the acquisition of PT Mahadiputra Adi Nusa, which distributes Pertamina?s fuel and lubricant products in South Kalimantan and Jakarta.
Mahadiputra is also conducting a feasibility study to develop 2x2 MW mini hydro power plant in Citarik, Sukabumi, West Java.
