Coal mining company PT Pesona Khatulistiwa Nusantara (PKN) stated that its 1.x7.5 MW mine mouth power plant in Sekayan, North Kalimantan province has been in operation since last week.
?It has been in operation since Saturday. Everything has been running well,? President Director Jeffrey Mulyono said adding that while the power plant is in operation, the company is waiting for public utility PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara (Persero) (PLN) to issue ?the certification of synchronization? for the power plant.
Power from the US$15 million power plant will be mostly used to support the firm?s operation in Sekayan. ?About 4 MW will be used to meet our needs and 2 MW will be sold to PLN,? Jeffrey said.
