Coal mining company PT Pesona Khatulistiwa Nusantara (PKN) stated that its new 1x7.5 MW mine mouth power plant in Sekayan, North Kalimantan, is currently seeking to obtain the operation worthy certification (also known locally as SLO) from PLN.
President Director, Jeffrey Mulyono told Petromindo.com that the power plant has been operated since last month.
?We have been through the synchronization process and now we are looking forward to obtain the SLO to be fully operated and entering the PLN system, ?Jeffrey said.
The US$15 million power plant will consume coal with CV of 3,200 Kcal per kg. The power capacity generated by the Sekayan power plant mostly will be used for company?s operation in Sekayan. About 4 MW will be used for PKN?s need and 2 MW will be sold to PLN.
