Sekayan power plant to come onstream next week

Coal mining company PT Pesona Khatulistiwa Nusantara (PKN) said that its 1x7.5 MW mine mouth power plant in Sekayan, North Kalimantan province is scheduled to start commercial operation next week.

President Director Jeffrey Mulyono told Petromindo.com on Monday that the power plant has completed commissioning. ?Next week, we expect the power plant start commercial operation,? he said.

The power plant was developed with a total investment of US$15 million with loans from local banks. It will be fed with 3,200 Kcal coal.

Of the installed capacity, about 4 MW will be used for the firm?s mining operation in Sekayan and 2 MW will be sold to PLN, Jeffrey said
