Oil and gas firm PT Sele Raya Energi is planning to drill a delineation well, named Rembang-3A, in Blora block in Pati, Central Java, in the first quarter of 2016.
"Drilling at Rembang-3 has currently been completed. Therefore, we want to drill the Rembang-3A delineation well which is planned in Q1 of next year," President Director Juchiro Tampi told Petromindo.com.
According to Juchiro, the previous operator, namely Swedish firm Lundin Petroleum, had already drilled two wells, namely Rembang-1 and Rembang-2. Drilling at the Rembang-3 well is actually intended to confirm the structure of Rembang.
"From this Rembang well, we have seen positive signs of hydrocarbons including gas," he said.
The chairman and founder of the company, Eddy Tampi, who is also the father of Juchiro, explained that during 6 years of exploration phase in the block, they has spent around US$14 million, but the result is still ?zero and a big question mark.?
The Blora block was awarded to Sele Raya in 2009 and the firm holds a 100 percent interest in the block.
