Sembawang Kimtrans launches $4.8 million landing craft for KPC

SKL said the S$4.8 million worth craft, is specially designed and engineered to transport mining equipment, heavy machinery, consumables and supplies from Singapore to KPC?s coal mines.
Measuring 58.6m (length) x 14.2m (breadth) x 4.25m (depth), the 1200 DWT (dead weight tonne), the Singapore-flagged KIMTRANS EAGLE is equipped with a 360-degree retractable propulsion system that provides superior maneuverability and versatility in challenging waters with large tidal differences and is able to load and discharge its cargo without going alongside a wharf, SKL said.
KIMTRANS EAGLE is also equipped with state-of-art security features such as satellite-based 3i Vessel Management System (3iVMS) and Automatic Identification System (AIS), SKL added. (Robert)
