SembCorp's unit bags $80m contract from Total

PT SMOE Indonesia has received its first turnkey contract from French oil giant Total E&P Indonesie for the construction of two offshore platforms worth a total of US$80 million.

Under the contract, SMOE will undertake the engineering, procurement, construction, transportation, installation, hookup and commissioning of a manifold platform and a compression platform to be installed in Indonesia?s Tunu field in Mahakam delta, East Kalimantan, SMOE's parent company SembCorp Marine Ltd of Singapore said in statement on Thursday.

The project is expected to be completed in the first quarter of 2009, the company said, adding that the manifold platform weighs about 2,500 tons, while the compression platform is about 3,600 tons.

Currently, SMOE is executing a fabrication and offshore hookup and commissioning contract for a 5,519 tons central processing platform for ConocoPhillips Indonesia. (denny)
