Semen Baturaja plans to develop coal-fired power plant

IDX-listed cement maker PT Semen Baturaja Tbk plans to develop a 3x25 MW coal-fired power plant in South Sumatra, the output of which will be partly used to meet its electricity requirement and the remainder to be sold to state-owned electricity firm PT PLN.
Semen Baturaja Director of Production and Development Agus Wahyudin told petromindo.com on Tuesday that the company plans to team up with PLN and a South Sumatra provincial government-owned company in the proposed power plant project.
He said that about 50 MW of the power output will be used to meet the company?s electricity requirement, while the remainder to be sold to PLN.
Agus said that the company is currently in the process of conducting legal and engineering study over the proposed project. He did not provide further details.
