Indonesia?s top cement producer PT.Semen Gresik Tbk. sees its coal requirement to increase to 4 million tonnes per annum starting 2011 from 2.5MTPA currently as it would build new power plants to support its huge expansion plans.
?Semen Gresik will be centralizing coal procurement and will be looking for reliable suppliers that could give us best prices,? Vice Chief Commissioner Darjoto Setiawan was quoted by media.
Semen Gresik is planning to invest US570 million to build coal-fired power plants in West Sumatra, Tuban, East Java and South Sulawesi with combined output of 410-MW to support capacity expansion plan and to cut electricity costs.
