Upstream authority SKK Migas expects agreement on the sales of gas from the Sengkang PSC in South Sulawesi operated by Energy Equity Epic Sengkang to be signed with state-owned electricity firm PT PLN before the end of the first semester of this year.
As much as 40 mmscfd of gas is expected to be channeled from Sengkang to PLTG Benoa gas-fired power plant in Bali owned by PT Indonesia Power, a subsidiary of PLN, said Arwan, Head of Gas Marketing Division at SKK Migas to Petromindo.com.
Production activities at Wasambo (Walanga, Sambisambi, Bone) fields in Sengkang, South Sulawesi, have been delayed again to the end of this year due to delay in the completion of the LNG plant. The Wasambo field is projected to produce 80 mmscfd of gas.
Construction of the Sengkang LNG plant project in South Sulawesi is still in progress, and was expected to be completed in the fourth quarter of 2017, a delay from the initial target of second quarter of 2016, an SKK Migas official said in March.
The Sengkang LNG plant is being constructed by ASX-listed Energy World Corporation (EWC).
