The onstream schedule of Sengkang LNG plant project in South Sulawesi, which is now under construction by ASX-listed Energy World Corporation(EWC), is to be postponed to the first quarter of 2017, according to upstream authority SKK Migas.
?Program in the upstream has been completed, but for its LNG project has not been completed," Taslim Z. Yunus, SKK Migas' Head of Program and Reporting, who is also acting spokesman of the agency, told Petromindo.com.
Taslim said that the project was earlier planned to be onstream in Q2 2016, but has been delayed to Q1 2017.
In March of last year, EWC confirmed there have been some delays in the development of its Sengkang LNG plant project, thus postponing its on-stream schedule from the initial plan of 2015 to this year.
?We had experienced some delays inthe project development timetable due to the time delay in gas allocation andthe subsequent impact on the time to close on the project financing for thetransaction, which also requires us to secure on offtake for the LNG,? EWC saidin a statement.
The gas allocation for the Wasambo gas to be utilised for the Sengkang LNG Project was granted on October 20, 2015.
Head of Gas and Oil Fuel Divisionat PLN Chairani Rachmatullah said earlier that the 100 MW PLTG Gorontalo gasturbine power plant in Pohuwatu district, Gorontalo province, which is owned bystate owned electricity firm PT Perusahaan Lisrik Negara (PLN) (Persero), willget a supply of gas from Wasambo (Walanga, Sambisambi, Bone) fields in Sengkang at a maximum volume of 70 bbtud.
