Construction of the Sengkang LNG plant project in South Sulawesi is still in progress, and is expected to be completed in the fourth quarter (Q4) of 2017, a delay from the initial target of second quarter of 2016.
This was said by Taslim Yunus, Head of Public Relations at upstream oil and gas authority SKK Migas to Petromindo.com on Wednesday.
The Sengkang LNG plant is being constructed by ASX-listed Energy World Corporation (EWC).
Taslim said that the delay in the completion of the LNG plant has also caused a delay in the production of Wasambo (Walanga, Sambisambi, Bone) gas field in Sengkang, South Sulawesi, operated by Energy Equity Epic Sengkang.
The Wasambo field is projected to produce 80 mmscfd of gas.
