Sengkang LNG project awaits major equipments

Australia-listed energy firm Energy World Corporation Limited (EWC) reported Thursday that site works have been undertaken at its Sengkang LNG plant project in South Sulawesi in preparation to welcome major equipments of 5,000 tons with a value in excess of US$200 million for the project that are currently being shipped to site.
It said in a statement that a secure lay down area has been prepared at the site and a temporary jetty has been constructed. Each of the units will be offloaded from the ocean-going vessel in mid channel Bone Bay onto barges that will be utilized to transport the equipments to shore where it will be transported to the site.
?Once at site, construction and installation of these equipments will commence. Foundation work will also commence to enable the equipment to be erected,? it said.
As previously reported, the project is awaiting the delivery of major equipments of approximately 5,000 tons for the Sengkang LNG project.
Following the appointment of MB Projects Pte Ltd., of the Martin Bencher Group, to coordinate and arrange the shipping of the equipment, four cold boxes each of capacity 500,000 tons per annum have been collected from Chart Industries? manufacturing plant in New Iberia and transported to Texas Terminal in Houston.
Two of the cold boxes and ancillary equipments have now left Texas Terminal on 9 May 2012. The two other cold boxes will be shipped in mid June. Other equipments will follow a planned program of shipment to site.
The shipping time to site in Indonesia is 45-50 days.
