Sengkang LNG project scheduled for commissioning soon after Q1, 2014

ASX-Listed firm Energy World Corporation Limited estimated that it will complete the construction and installation of the first train of the Sengkang LNG project in South Sulawesi by the first quarter of 2014.

The company said in its latest update report that commissioning and commencement of operations would follow soon thereafter.

The Sengkang LNG project is being carried out in the same region as the Sengkang Contract Area and Sengkang power plant, to take advantage of gas reserves and contingent resources in the Sengkang Contract Area in excess of the requirement for the Sengkang power plant.

The project consists of (i) one modular LNG train with a capacity of 0.5 MTPA, with three additional trains, depending on gas field development, for a potential total LNG capacity of 2 MTPA, (ii) an LNG storage facility and (iii) an LNG loading facility.

Major equipment, including four cold-boxes and ancillary equipment, arrived on site in August 2012. Site preparations, including foundation and pile driving works have commenced.
