Senoro LNG partnership award EPC contract to JGC

Donggi-Senoro LNG partnership has awarded EPC contract to develop an LNG Plant in Central Sulawesi to Japan engineering firm JGC Corp., Medco Energi Chief Commissioner Hilmi Panigoro said on Monday.

Hilmi, however, said that the partnership is currently negotiating to lower the price with JGC as prices of main components to build the plant such as steel and other construction materials had significantly fallen.

Mitsubishi Corp., state oil, gas firm Pertamina and Medco has 51 percent, 29 percent and 20 percent, respectively in the proposed 2MTPA plant, the first LNG project to be developed under downstream concept. In April 2008, Pertamina estimated the cost to develop the project was US$1.4 billion.(godang)
