PT Energi Mega Persada was still unable to resume the operation of its Sepanjang oilfield offshore East Java due to continued bad weather.
"The sea waves are still high, between five and six meters. The FSO (Floating Storage and Offloading) unit of the field is still being secured on Sesil island, close the field," Amir Hamzah, the spokesman of oil and gas upstream authority BPMIGAS, said told Petromindo.Com on Monday.
EMP shut down its field in Kangean PSC offshore East Java on Dec. 26, 2007 after bad weather and strong wind hit the field?s FSO unit. The field normally produces 4,000 barrels of oil per day,
EMP has 50 percent indirect interest in Kangean PSC through Kangean Energi Indonesia with Japanese firms Japex and Mitsubishi holding the balance. (Godang)
