Serica secures rigs for Java Sea, N. Sumatra drilling campaign

UK-based oil, gas firm Serica energy said on Wednesday it had secured the GlobalSantaFe Rig 136 to conduct exploration drilling activities in Biliton PSC in Java sea.
The company said it had finalized plans for a two or three well to be carried out in mid-2007 through a rig sharing agreement with Total E & P Indonesie.
Serica has a 90% interest and is operator of Biliton.
Serica had also contracted the SeaDrill 5 jack-up drilling rig for 136 days during 2007 to drill four wells and to carry out one workover in the Glagah Kambuna TAC and adjacent Asahan Offshore PSC, North Sumatra. Serica is operator of both the Glagah Kambuna TAC and the Asahan Offshore PSC with working interests of 65% and 55% respectively. (alex)
