Australian oil, gas firm Cooper Energy Ltd. reported on Tuesday that the Seruway PSC partnership has completed 1,400 km marine 2D seismic program over the Ibu Horst prospect offshore east North Sumatra in mid-April this year.
The objective of the seismic acquisition is to delineate several leads, prospects and fields for drilling in 2009, Cooper said.
Cooper Energy has announced on Monday that the Gurame 1X appraisal well in the PSC was plugged and abandoned after failing to encounter commercial hydrocarbon.
Cooper Energy and UK firm Salamander Energy each has a 22.5 percent interest in the block with the balance held by operator Transworld Seruway. (denny)
