Seruyan to build solar power plant

The Seruyan Regency administration in Central Kalimantan plans to build a 1 MW solar power plant in Manjul District to meet electricity demand in the region, Antara reported Thursday.

Head of the energy and mining office in the regency, Pieter Manginte said that about 25 percent of the areas in the regency have yet to have access to electricity.

He, however, said that the administration has yet to decide on the schedule for the planned power plant project.

Pieter added that the administration is also considering to develop micro hydro power plant in remote areas in the regency. No further details were provided. (*)
