Servo group through its unit PT Banjarsari Pribumi plans to develop a 221 km coal railway from Muara Enim regency to the Tanjung Api Api special economic zone (SEZ) in coal-rich South Sumatra province.

The company, which will team up with state-owned railway firm PT KAI in the project, unveiled the plan during a meeting with South Sumatra Governor Alex Nurdin and KAI officials on Monday, Sumatra Ekspress reported.

Banjarsari Director Dasril said that the project would be developed in two stages, the first 111 km stage will link Muara Enim and Muara Lematang, while the second stage of 110 km will connect Muara Lematang with Tanjung Api Api SEZ.

?In general, land acquisition from Muara Lematang to Tanjung Api Api has reached 60 percent. We hope for the full support of the government so that construction (of the project) can be implemented,? he said.

Alex said that his administration will provide the necessary support to help speed up the implementation of the project.(*)
