Setindo to construct up to 100 CNG fuelling stations

PT Setindo Raya, a compressed natural gas company, plans to construct between 50 and 100 gas fuelling stations in the Greater Jakarta Area by the end of the year, tapping on a government?s drive to convert oil-based fuels to gas-based fuels, Investor Daily reported on Wednesday.

Final decision, however, will be depend on a government decision on land and gas supply, Setindo?s Director Erwin Wijaya said on Tuesday. Erwin added constructing CNG fuelling station costs less than regular oil-based stations and will only require about 500 square meters of land for one fuelling station.

Erwin declined to provide investment value, but Indonesia?s CNG Companies? Association has said construction of one CNG fuelling station would require 15 billion rupiah. Using the figure, Setindo?s plan may represent an investment value of up to 1.5 trillion rupiah.(*)
