Sewatama starts operation of Gunung Megang power plant

Integrated power solutions company PT Sumberdaya Sewatama inaugurated on Tuesday the operation of gas and steam-fired power plant in Gunung Megang, Muaraenim, South Sumatra, Bisnis Indonesia and Media Indonesia reported on Thursday.

The paper said that Sewatama has obtained a six-year contract to operate and provide maintenance for the power plant, which is owned by PT Meppo-Gen. Under the contract, Sewatama will ensure the performance of the power plant to allow Meppo-Genn to fulfill the power purchase agreement (PPA) signed with state-owned electricity firm PLN, said Sewatama Corporate Secretary Setya Yudha Indraswara, on the sidelines of a ceremony held to hand over the plant from Meppo-Gen to Sewatama, which was attended by top officials of both firms. Sewatama also promises a cost saving of at least 5 percent.

Sewatama is an integrated electricity solutions provider engaged in four business lines including temporary power provider, operations and maintenance of power plants, power optimization and energy efficiency, and long term power solutions. (*)
