Electricity solution provider PT Sumberdaya Sewatama, a subsidiary of ABM Investama, has signed a cooperation agreement with the Gowa Regency administration in South Sulawesi to develop a 5.2 MW mini hydro power plant, Kontan daily reported Tuesday.
Gowa Regent Ichsan Yasin Limpo said PT Punggawa Nagata Dinamika Hidro, a joint venture between Sewatama?s subsidiary PT Nagata Dinamika and local government-owned firm PT Perusda Gowa, will develop the project, which is expected to be competed in 2016.
The power plant project will help resolve the current power supply shortage in the regency, as existing supply could only serve about 78 percent of the local electricity consumers.
Meanwhile, Sewatama President Director Hasto Kristiyono said that the company decided to build power plant in South Sulawesi because the region is seen as the main gate to the eastern part of Indonesia. (*)
