Integrated power generation solution firm PT Sumberdaya Sewatama plans to build two mini-hydro power plants in Gowa and Tana Toraja regencies, South Sulawesi, each with a capacity of 7.5 MW, Kontan daily reported Thursday.
Sewatama President Director N. Hasto Kristijono said the company is currently waiting for the operational feasibility study and financial feasibility study from state-owned electricity PLN. Once the two feasibility studies have been completed, the two firms will sign the power purchase agreement.
Hasto said that the company has obtained the necessary permits from the local administrations for the project, which is estimated to have investment cost of about US$2 million per MW. The company will use internal funds and bank loans to finance the projects.
He added that Sewatama is teaming up with local regency administration-owned companies to develop the power plants. (*)
