Sewatama to spend $10m for renewable-based power plants

The paper quoted Sewatama President Director Elan B. Fuadi as saying that the company will spend about $5 million to develop a 2 MW biogas power plant in Mantewe, Tanah Bumbu regency, South Kalimantan. He said that a power purchase agreement (PPA) was signed with state-owned power firm PT PLN end of last month.
He added the company also plans to develop two mini-hydro power plants in Madong (7MW) and in Sapaya (5MW), both located in South Sulawesi. Sewatama hopes to be able to sign the PPAs with PLN soon.
Elsewhere, Elan said that over the next five years, Sewatama plans to spend up to $120 million to develop 50 MW of mini-hydro power plants, and 20 MW of power plants based on other renewable energy sources. (*)
