Increased demand for Indonesian material was evident with prices further supported week on week. Buyers from India and China were understood to be seeking spot material more actively. However, key Indonesian producers said that they were sold out for prompt cargoes and for most of May. May loading material transacted at $47.00/t FOB, basis 3,800 kc NAR, for a Panamax. Markets for June were bid at $42.50-43.00/t FOB, basis 3,800 kc NAR, against offers at $44.75-45.00/t FOB, same basis. Low sulphur material was offered at $50.00-50.50/t FOB, basis 4,200 kc GAR, also for June loading geared vessels.

Trading sentiment in the Asian swaps market was robust over the week with M42 transacting via SGX for June at $42.50-45.25/t, up sharply from $41.00/t, in the week prior. May deals settled at $43.75-45.50/t, also up on the week from $40.75-42.75/t. M42 for April traded at $44.50-45.25.t, spiking from $40-25-40.90/t last week.
