SGX M42F Thermal Coal - Daily Update 10 May 2019

Physical 

The supply of Indonesian May and June loading cargoes has further tightened ahead of Eid Ul Fitri holidays in Indonesia in the first week of June. Numerous coal producers say they are sold out for May, but several others were holding a couple of cargoes for late May-second half June delivery. Traded levels for low c.v. coal for May were maintained on the week at $39.00-39.50/t FOB, basis 3,800 kc NAR, for geared vessels.  Index-linked deals were heard settled at M42/ICI4 plus $0.25/t, for geared vessels loading in May-June, stable to levels heard in the week prior.

Fair value for M42, as listed on SGX and ICE, averaged $39.40/t for May, up from $39.13/t a week ago. June was valued at $39.30/t, edging up from $39.25/t, last week, while fair value for the Q3 contract grew to $39.05/t, compared with $38.25/t in the week prior. (ends)
