Activity out of Indonesia was quiet ahead of the Eid Ul Fitr holidays. Several suppliers said that demand from China remained strong but that very few spot cargoes were available, if at all. Rain in parts of South Kalimantan is understood to be affecting mining at several low c.v. concessions. An offer was heard at $53.75/t FOB, basis 3,700 kc NAR, for a late May, early June, loading in a geared vessel. On an index-linked basis, a market for a geared vessel loading in July was bid at M42 plus $1.00 against an offer at plus $2.50/t, for 3,800 kc NAR material.

M42 traded at $53.50 for July during the morning. In the afternoon, May traded at $55.75 which was down on the last May deal done on 6 April at $56.25. June traded at $55.25 in the evening session, up on where it traded on Friday at $54.50. During the day, M42 was bid at $55.00 for May and offered at $66.50, while June was bid at $54.50 and offered at $55.20. July was offered at $54.00. A bid for Q3-21 was reported at $48.75. A spread for May vs June was heard bid at M42 plus $0.45 and offered at $1.30, while June vs July was bid at plus $1.75 and offered at $2.75, while July vs August was bid at plus $0.85 and offered at plus $2.50. A spread of August vs September was also bid at M42 plus $0.50 and offered at plus $2.00. While Q3-21 vs Q4-21 was bid at M42 plus $2.25 and offered at plus $6.00.
