Indonesian coal exporters appear to be holding out on sales in the final weeks of December, in hopes of prices at least stabilising into January and potentially higher transacted levels. Trades for low-rank material went through at $34.15-34.40/t FOB, basis 3,800 kc NAR for December loading geared vessels, stable to deals settled last week at $34.10-34.40/t FOB, same basis. January traded at $34.50/t FOB, basis 3,800 kc NAR, while a deal for February went through at $34.00/t FOB, basis 3,800 kc NAR, both for geared vessels.
Paper
Transacted volumes for M42, as listed on SGX, grew to 0.20 mt this week. Trades went through via SGX Cal-2020 at $34.35/t at the start of the week before rising to $34.70/t on Friday. Parcels of 40,000 t each for loading in January and February traded as well at $34.20/t.
