Prices in the Asian thermal markets look set to continue the week where they left off on Friday, with most grades and markets appearing to be firming. This is, however, the last full week before the Lunar New Year holidays which will start taking Chinese market participants away from their desks form next week. Indonesian prices have firmed over the course of last weeks, and offers today reflected that, continuing on from where they left off on Friday. For low-rank, an offer was reported at $35.00/t FOB basis 3,800 kc NAR, for a January loading geared vessel. Elsewhere offers for February loading geared vessels were reported at $34.75-35.25/t FOB, basis 3,800 kc NAR, depending on which mine the material originated. A bid was reported at $34.00/t FOB, basis 3,800 kc NAR, for a February loading geared vessel.
Paper
Prompt M42 paper, listed on SGX, was bid for January at $34.05 and offered at $34.65. February was bid at $34.10 and offered at $35.25, while March was bid at $34.30 and offered at $35.50.
