Physical
Demand for Indonesian material remained firm with enquiries from China continuing to support spot prices this week. However, supply remained tight with key low c.v. miners in East and South Kalimantan understood to be struggling with production as they contend with heavy rain. "Chinese buyers are active and asking for quotes. Sellers are bullish," a Jakarta-based trader said, adding that there is expectation for prices to firm further in the near-term. Deals were reported at $47.50-48.50/t FOB, basis 3,800 kc NAR, for May and June loading geared vessels. The week before, similar grade material traded at $43.50-45.25/t FOB, basis 3,800 kc NAR, for June loading geared vessels.
