It was a national holiday today in Indonesia for the general election, although some business was seen. For Indonesian low-rank, trades were reported at $38.00-38.50/t FOB, basis 3,800 kc NAR, for May loading geared vessels. A Panamax is understood to have traded at $38.75/t FOB, basis 3,800 kc NAR, for April loading. For a May loading Panamax, the best bid reported was at $38.50/t FOB, basis 3,800 kc NAR, with the best offer heard at $39.00/t FOB, same basis.
Paper
Paper markets were generally firmer in Asia, with prompt Newcastle and API4 moving higher. M42 paper, as listed on SGX and ICE, was little changed on yesterday with a bid at $37.75/t for April against an offer at $38.20/t. May was bid at $37.50/t against and offer at $38.50/t, while June was bid at $37.75 and offered at $38.75. Further out, M42 for Q3 2019 was still bid at $36.00/t and offered at $38.25/t, while Q4 2019 was bid at $36.05/t and offered at $38.25/t. (ends)
