Thermal markets in Asia were relatively quiet. Price levels were in general holding flat while some quotations were seen lower than reported earlier this week. For Indonesian low-rank, an offer was heard at $34.00/t FOB, basis 3,800 kc NAR, for a January loading geared vessel, which was lower than the offer level reported the day before at $34.50/t FOB for similar business. A bid was reported at $35.00/t FOB, basis 4,200 kc GAR, for a December loading Panamax.
Paper
Prompt paper prices were relatively stable in Asian trading. M42 paper, listed on SGX, was bid for January and February at $33.95, with offers for the same two months at $34.50. Calendar 2020 was bid at $33.85 and offered at $34.60.
